Beautiful lake views! The trail around the lake was a bit too rocky for my tender feet.

Good signs. less traffic on the way to the lake. Lakeview is great. Definitely come back and try different trails with more time to complete the lake loop.

Good trail. On a scale 1-10 with 10 the hardest this is a 4.5 to 5. This is an easy-moderate trial.

Added on cannonball trail (Orange markers) which was a great addition & added lots of different views and spots for a hammock (note for future to bring!)… Larger trees and open area — absolutely beautiful trail and relatively easy footing. Definitely take the extra walk to the lookout point at Ramapo lake… Worth the .1 miles an incredible view from rocks

Great 5 mile hike from Back Beach Park. After about 1-1.5 mile of slight uphill you get to the lake. Lots of little nooks to sit and enjoy the lake and let your dog go for a swim. Clearly marked trails and not crowded.

Great hike and great scenery of the lake! Be careful that you take the same path coming back. I somehow missed a marking and took the wrong way back, causing me to be on residential streets through Pompton Lakes back to Haskell.

Always a beautiful hike at Ramapo. We started at Indian head trail and went off the path and met at the cannonball trail. Once you come close to the lake there are multiple spots to sit and relax as well as swimming. The trails are cascaded with trees so it’s a great hike for a hot/humid day. One of my favorite places to hike, plenty of points of incline and views that are worth the hard work!

really nice trail. challenging enough to get a good workout in without killing yourself. i would have given it a higher rating (the views and trail were beautiful and peaceful), but you will definitely pass a few groups of people along the way. it wasn’t too much to bother me, though.

A nice trail to take my 4 and 6 year olds on. We went straight to the lake and a bit around it and then turned back. It would have been too far for them to go all the way around. A couple of steeper section kept it interesting for them but otherwise an easy hike with a few decent things to look at. I just wish in the current pandemic people were a bit more conscious of keeping distance.
