This trail is a nice workout - with consistent up and down traction.... but it is horribly labeled

I for sure thought this would be an amazing trail run to the end, boy was I wrong. After 3.9 miles, it turned into a leisurely hike. But I still enjoyed it. It’s also kinda rocky at first so be ready for that part!

The trails were very poorly marked. I had to constantly reference the map on AllTrails. There were some very wide rocky portions that were annoying to walk on and other narrow dirt trails with close vegetation. Watch out for poison ivy. Overall, it felt monotonous.

Went counterclockwise so the Lenape trail (the most fun part) was at the end of the hike. The rest of the hike was more of a walk in the woods, but with a lot of loose stones on the path in many places. If you go clockwise, your uphill will be on steps built into the trail. Lots of chipmunks. A bit more trash on the trail than I’d like to see.

HikingGreat!

This is a nice and mostly easy hike, more of a walk in the wood, plenty of shade. It would be a lot nicer if there was more water in the stream, and there supposed to be a water fall. But due to the fact that it is dry this year, not much water in the stream and no waterfall. Overall nice walk close to home.

Different terrains with mild elevation. Nice and cool under the canopy of trees.

Great hike, some bugs in the beginning and end but overall great. Went off trail to check out the falls and a creek, which was worth it, then looped back in.

A little muddy and slippery from all the rain this week but such a great trail! One tree down about 2/3 the way through the trail but easy to bypass

Great trail for a beginner work out, lots of options to mix in other trails and detours. Kind of crowded but everyone really good about putting on their masks when passing.

Nice easy hike. Get here in the morning and you won’t hit as many crowds even though I didn’t think it was that busy at 10-11a.

This basic loop is a good starting plan, with many options to change it up based on your preferences. Arriving early (9am on a Saturday), there was already a decent amount of people near popular areas like Hemlock Falls and Washington Rock. The River Trail portion also had a lot of people. What I did was cross to the west side of the river and proceed on some of the more isolated trails there, which had much less people. It also seems like a lot of people avoid the elevation gains on the Lenape (yellow) trail, so that also had less people.

Pretty flat for first half. Runs along the creek but not close enough for you to see it the entire tome unless you move off trail.
