Mount Tammany via Red Dot Trail is a 2.3 mile heavily trafficked out and back trail located near Hardwick Township, New Jersey that features a river and is rated as difficult. Hikers visiting the top of Mount Tammany can take a variety of routes. The route shown on this page follows the Red Dot Trail up a steep and rocky trail to the summit. This route then has the hiker turn around come back down the Red Dot Trail. Many hikers choose to continue past the summit onto the Blue Dot Trail eventually returning to the parking lot. You could also take the Blue Dot Trail up and back - which is easier than the Red Dot Trail.
