Cool forest - this trail was mostly narrow & rocky, but we really enjoyed it. There are a few overlaps with other trails where you’ll see a bit more traffic, but light traffic otherwise on a Saturday @ 2:30pm. We also experienced the terrifying yet awe inspiring event of a tree falling a few hundred feet away. It was a bit tough getting around that tree since it’s now blocking the trail.

Delightful, cool, dry sunny, relatively easy Sunday morning hike on a variety of terrain on trails ranging from asphalt roads, wide wooded trails and very narrow paths.

trail overgrown with lots of suspicious looking vines. Doesn't anybody do trail maintenance anymore? Some road walking required for this hike.

Great hike for anyone, easy, trails marked well, many different options to go different directions/different trails along the hike so you can make it as short or long as you want. Awesome views of the sunrise if you hike it in the morning.

12.12.18. Easy, straight forward and well-marked loop. Our leisurely one hour tour started at the parking lot by the restrooms and headed south west on a blue marked path parallel to Jockey Hollow road. After a third of a mile, we crossed the road and joined the blue blazed Patriots Path and continued on for another third of a mile. We then turned sharp left onto the white blazed Grand Loop trail. There is a smallish pond to the right just after this turn. We stayed on this trail (the most scenic of this loop) for about 1.3 miles and then made a sharp left turn onto an unmarked trail for another third mile before joining the Yellow trail. We followed this for a short while before joining the paved Grand Parade Road. After that, it's a short walk back to the parking lot to complete the loop.
