MacMillan Reservoir Overlook and Hawk Rock Loop is a 4.9 mile heavily trafficked loop trail located near Mahwah, New Jersey that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking, running, nature trips, and bird watching.
January 17, 2021Many people near the lake. You will find less people once you up on the trail.
January 11, 2021Very crowded for a Saturday in January. Got there about 9:30am and the parking lot was half full. Not as many view points as I would have liked. Icy patches very slippery. Markers are clear and easy to follow. Took 3 hours because we kept stopping to take photos.

November 3, 2020A beautiful walk in the woods. The trail is intermittently paved and is easy to follow. Lovely waterfall and reservoir scenery.
September 21, 2020September 5, 2020July 19, 2020July 5, 2020This was our first hike! We got there around 9am and the parking lot was packed. Had to wait 45 minutes to get in. Once we got in we took the path straight down and then hooked the left to the waterfall. It was crowded in that area. After taking the trail up to the lookout point, there was less and less people. it was a great first starter hike!
