From the parking lot, follow the gravel and dirt trail to the bridge that crosses the Ramapo River and continue straight until reaching a more heavily graveled and partially paved area just past the Scarlet Oak Pond which begins the ascent up to the reservoir. Upon reaching the reservoir, follow the pink blazes around this loop which hugs the reservoir.
