Easy paved path between Loantaka Way and South Street. Great for a Sunday afternoon walk through the woods.

Great paved trail through the woods. Easy run and well maintained. Ran 9 starting at horse stables on South Street by town pool.

super easy path. nice for an easy walk. Lots and lots of poison ivy on every side! so if you're allergic or get reaction be very careful!

Easy walk on a paved path. Best to park in Morristown end vs Green Village. Many dog walkers, bikes and children but very pleasant overall.

A paved trail..many bikes...but did some back routes, crossed a creek...some mud. Not an actual hike but a fun walk. next time I'll bring my bike !

We set out to hike but this was more of a relaxing stroll. They do have nice paved trails for biking. Theres also a small area where you rent bikes (similar to the CitiBike). Definitely do that next time! However, there are some cons: Some, not all, bicyclists are willing to run you over if you dont get out of their way. Oh and theres horse poop aaalllllll over the unpaved trail. Someone needs to at least push that huge amount of feces off to the side of the trail or something!

Lovely easy trail, nice lake that’s very quaint, cuts through some roads. Nothing overly exciting though

A nice walk through the woods on paved and unpaved trails. There are some gentle ups and downs but it is gentle walk through the woods. The paths are shared with bicyclists some of whom are just da*n rude, cycling side by side, forcing pedestrians off the path. Parking is available off Loantaka. Alternately, there is parking available on Woodland, the road between the Reservation and the park next to Giralda Farms, which includes a nice 2 mile cinder trail.

Crowded on a school holiday. All alone on a workday. Northern end: Feels like a park in an urban setting. Southern end: Beautiful paved bike trail through forest. One note: the not paved trail is in dire need of maintenance. Lots of briars and muddy spots. Biking, what more could you ask for?

this reservation is AMAZING has so many options whether you want to run, bike, walk your dog, have a family party, have a BBQ, etc. my pup Lucy loved the small water sections along the trails where she could run back and forth through the water. really, really loved it here, will absolutely be bringing friends back.

Loantaka Brook Reservation is a crown jewel of the Morris County, NJ Parks system. The Reservation has been pieced together over the last 60 years thanks to the County, private donors, and municipal contributions. From the north, it follows from Kitchell Pond southward to the edge of the Great Swamp National Wildlife Refuge, generally following the flow of Loantaka Brook and other feeder streams into the Great Swamp. A 2015 addition within this trail system is Giralda Farms Preserve, which has a separate entry in

Nice simple place for a hike. You can hike, bike, roller skate & horseback here. Main trails are paved, others are stone dust & others are dirt. Some dirt trails are muddy after a rain, but watch out for horse poop!

Paved all the way but very nice. Best to head west once you clear the park. Don't think these are wooded trails. Everything is pavement.

My favorite trail for a leisurely stroll or long walk. I get eaten up by bugs on unpaved trails; the pavement and lack of incline make for my favorite combination if I'm looking for distance not a demanding terrain. The pavement is nice and wide, enough for 3-4 people walking side by side, so plenty of room for a biker and runner to pass one another with ease. Based on what I read, it gets busy. I arrived around 6pm on a summer weeknight and it wasn't "busy." There were a handful of high school boys running, 2 pairs of bikers, and a handful of runners. it's very well-maintained.

Beautifully maintained paved paths. Great for all ages and skill levels. There's some paths off the main paved one if on foot. Great bike rides, running strollers, roller blades, long distance running, groups, walking, etc. Gorgeous scenery! You can connect to the Giralda Farms path like reviewer suggested, making your run even further. Lots of people love it, but I never found it too crowded. Highly recommend

This is one of my favorite paths in the Morristown area! It's a nice paved course with lots of side trails for non-paved options and varied scenery. Kitchell and Green Village Roads also provide the option of creating bigger loops for longer training runs and can connect over to the trail at Giralda Farms.
