Great hike, very muddy in a few areas, wear shoes you don’t care about!

The features of the brook and Buttermilk Falls were pretty, but it was incredibly muddy; the high side of the trail was the worst, total mud, sunk in to my ankles. The lower trail was very rocky. The trail was well marked.

The ruins from the Levi Lewis forge area was nice to explore but the features were scare and over grown. Frogs were actively calling in the upper pond. Buttermilk Falls were pretty. Several families at the falls, some with barking dogs off leash, mountain bikes or music playing. The upper trail was pretty but very muddy. Wear ankle-high hiking boots. The trail was well marked but the elevation scale on Alltrials is wrong -- rather, the trial start high, goes down, then ends high.

Much of it is very rocky and rooty. Wear ankle support. Some very marshy sections. Overall a good hike with nice river views and glacier rocks.

This was not an easy trail at all. I’ve hiked “moderate” trails that were easier. The yellow trail markings were all but not existent. They need to do a better job cleaning a clear trail for people to follow.

Great easy to moderate hike down to the falls and back up by a slightly different route. Beautiful views of the falls and the water, mix of rocky and muddy in parts.

Hard to find, but once you figure out you have to cross the soccer fields and that the trail starts behind them, it’s a really easy trail to follow particularly if you’re with kids. Smaller trail than I though, but that’s not a bad thing. Very very buggy, may be due to all the recent rains and likely unavoidable. Good spots along the river to cool off in though!

Select trails were poorly maintained which was very unfortunate. Otherwise this historic and beautiful hike would be more of a three of four star park. Definitely on the easy side, but that's what we had been looking for that day.

Since this in my backyard it's my go to for a nice quick walk in the woods. Love walking along the brook.

easy hike with kids and dog... it's mid january and the trail is really muddy with a recent snow melt / rain. The trail connecting back to buttermilk is washed out so had to cut it short.
