I enjoyed my hike today. I did some of the Rocky Point Trail and the Cuesta/Laurel Ridge in a thunderstorm. Despite getting rained on, I still enjoyed myself. I took away a couple stars for the following reasons: 1) the hike itself was hard to find. I recommend parking at the trailhead where you'll find the entrance to Rocky Point past the sign to the left. Cuesta Ridge will be behind you through a gate which says "Authorized Vehicles Only" and it will be a little bit on the pavement and to the right. You can also park on the Navesink Ave/Buttermilk Valley Entrance, then turn right to start the Laurel Ridge Trail which will lead to the Cuesta Ridge Trail and the Grand Tour trails. 2) the trails weren't well marked, especially Rocky Point. They have paper maps at the trailhead which will be useful.
Really nice hike, not muddy at all! Although there wasn’t that much scenery thru out the hike. Did have sex again against a tree so that was a positive. Not that many other hikers. Went mid week in the late morning
Beautiful trail! Took us a little over an hour to hike the trail did a little running also. Hardly anyone on trail. We did the black diamond trail and it was very easy to navigate. After a great hike we went to lunch at the inlet cafe. It was a perfect day date :). Enjoy. You will love!
