Cool hike. Lots of different terrain. Nice views.

Excellent trail for beginners. I will recommend to start early morning as it gets heavily trafficked later in the day. The trail leads to a small beach area where you can enjoy water sports & activities. It is also very good for mountain bikes.

Recommended for families and strollers. Easy paved trails. Ample rest rooms. A path down to the beach / river. Only a 3 mile loop. Great hike.

Absolutely gorgeous! Not too busy and we’ll marked trails. While mostly in the woods, it’s very pretty and offers shade which was so much cooler on a sunny day. Great with kids and the dog. Even got a quick swim along the way. Lot was full at 11am but waited 10 min and we were able to go in.

4th time coming here. Beautiful as I remembered from last year. We arrived around 10:30 and parking was full. Now - only half of parking spots were “open”.

You won’t think you are at the Jersey Shore as you ride this rocky, twisting trail up and down hills several hundred feet in height.

As expected, this is a pretty busy trail. However, it was lovely to be right on the water and there are beautiful views of the water. We did not stay to finish the whole loop, because we decided to go to the beach instead. There are old military bunkers sprinkled along the trail, which are cool. Also, there are points where you can climb down to the water if you have a rope, which is fun. Overall, it was fun, albeit not challenging trail.

great trail into the woods that runs parallel to the ocean !

Really enjoyed this with the family. Having to stay home for covid-19 it was really refreshing to be outside and hear the birds. Trail was moderate.

Great place to hike and see the two rivers and the ocean. Lots of trails all levels from beginners to black diamonds trails. Mountain bikers and horses welcome! Lots of history with new bathroom and bike repair station. Not far is the Twin Lights. And Sandy Hook state park. All within 6 miles of each other. My friends always want to hike the Hart!!

Did a longer version of this trail. The views are great but might be better later in the fall with less foliage. Proves that NJ is not just concrete.

The views are terrific. I liked being able to take my dog (leashed). Some steep hills, but that was expected...it is in the Highlands. Lots of trees and shade...picnic tables too. Will visit again.

Started on a hiking trail switched to the black diamond biking trail. Gorgeous terrain, paths were marked okay. Newly paved trail at the top of rocky point. Great place to explore saw several Hawks and a Swan. This trail has a little of everything between biking, hiking, and history.
