Lovely hike, but halfway though it I saw a black bear. I got scared and had to turn around!

Nice trail today with few other people and pleasant conditions. Not too buggy either, just a few squirrels and chipmunks. Easy to follow the trail too and a nice bit of up and down.

Nice babbling brook. Narrow path, and we had to scramble out of the way for a few mountain bikers.

COVID-19: If you are looking for a peaceful social distancing trail (like I was), look no further. Went in the hopes of it not being crowded so I can enjoy my hike while still practicing social distancing. Thankfully, I got what I wanted. Stayed on GREEN & I could probably count on one hand how many people I passed (mostly all bikers) who all politely kept their distance.

**Please do not follow the exact route shown here as the northern section of the trail that goes from orange down to Sunrise Lake either is closed or does not exist anymore (it is NOT on the park maps that were updated in June 2016). It seems like they are doing a lot of restoration work in this section and trying to prevent people from making social trails (if you see what looks like a trail with a bunch of brush/downed wood blocking it off, this is likely their efforts to prevent people from using the trail). Stay on trail and either extend the walk by adding the yellow loop (adds an extra 15-20 minutes) or shorten it by cutting right down the orange trail from teal instead of going left.** Overall, a nice trail and park system. Trails are blazed adequately but I did think some sections could use some more blazes, especially at trail starts and junctions. Be sure to either take a picture of the trail map in the parking area/map posts or have the GPS map from the app because it’s easy to make a wrong turn at certain sections. Also note that the trails are shared with mountain bikers and horses so stay alert!

Lovely trail mostly in shade with little frog hopping across the trail and some kind of deer. Beware: as others have noted at the northern edge of the trail by Sunrise Lake, the trail is not passable so you have to go off trail and find your own way or take a detour that will add time to your walk. Lovely lovely trail though.

Beautiful trail. Although there is no trail that goes off the orange area. You end up following the yellow trail around until the end so it is about 3.5 miles total.

Im new to hiking and this trail had a little bit of everything from streams to lake hills and flats but the trail disappeared on me and i tracked back and it seems a few trails marked on the map might not exist. It dumped me onto orange and then yellow so the 2.1 actually was 3.5 miles. Glad my phone was fully charged and i had downloaded the map and hit record.

Amazing weather (finally). This was a super easy hike (blue trail) for us, wide trails, not much elevation. We added on another loop to make a 5 mile trip. Blue was a little muddy but easy to get around. Orange was overgrown quite a bit. Trails are well marked and lots of maps.

We had a lovely hike, but got a little turned around. Luckily my phone was fully charged & we were able to get ourselves back on the trail we needed to be on. Otherwise was exactly what we were looking for.

As a casual mountain bike rider I found this trail very difficult, especially the hills. I also found the trail markings a bit difficult to follow at times. I guess the trails would be great for anyone with very strong legs and a full suspension bike. If you're a novice this trail is not for you.

Easier hike than graded, smooth with some roots & almost no rocks to contend with. Found it better to hike counter-clockwise so you see biker traffic, but either way works

The trial is good. There are some up and down hills but not mountainous rugged one. It is good for exercise. However, about 1/4 of north trial is really for mountain biker. There are high school or middle schools mountain bikers today in that trail. It is good to avoid that section by taking some inside trails. Overall it is a very good exercise for us today
