Not much of a hike. But the Falls were flowing full today and beautiful.

Very fun! It’s the perfect hidden gem in this historical city! Go off hours for less people! Can get crowded! Plenty of parking

Beautiful falls. Not a trail but more like a nice and easy walkthrough. All ages will enjoy the site. After seeing the falls I headed over to Mills Reservoir to take a nice 2 mile hike. Garret Mnt. is also less than 15 min away if you are looking to take a hike aftee viewing the falls.

Walking

Pretty urban park and waterfall. A bit underwhelming. It was overcast and misty so there were hardly any people there. There was not as much trash around as I was expecting based on reviews, actually hardly any at all. Worth the visit if you’ll be close but not worth going out of your way for.

I agree with the other reviewers. Beautiful for an Instagram photo, but go closer and the water smells bad, and the area is not maintained, lots of trash.

Not much of an actual trail, more like a park if anything. And there’s ALOT of trash and it sells awful, once you get near the water.

lots of people unmasked in tight spaces where you're forced to walk by them, lots of garbage around the area too. not quite worth it.

I don’t even know why this is on a trail app because it is DEFINITELY NOT FOR HIKING. This is nothing but a scenic walk which you can barely say because of all the garbage surrounding the place!!! Looks like drug users regularly use this area, waste of time.

The waterfalls are beautiful. Amazing views. But if you do on trail to get to garbage collector. Garbage is everywhere.

HikingFeeGreat!

Great place to walk. The falls are absolutely gorgeous. Easy walk for any age. There is some construction. Be sure to follow the paved road down to the river bottom and get your feet wet in the water. In addition, add on the historic stadium that is adjacent to the park.

Falls are pretty but park is kind of trashy tbh, shame cuz the falls really are beautiful and park has much potential. Seems like today there were a lot of drug users in the park, sad...

Not for “hiking”, more for a nice scenic walk by the falls and some history. it’s very pretty and a nice time out!

Nice views, short walk, not much in the surrounding area but there’s a nice bridge you can walk across and views from the bottom and top of the falls!

Hiking

It’s a nice historic scenery. Not for hiking nor long walking distance. Warning: it is not kept well by the stadium area. It has a lot of garbage everywhere. The best place to park is in the falls parking lot according to the directions here on all trails. There are 2 viewings. Parking lot is the first lower end view of the falls but you must view from atop. Follow steps up to where the building is and cross the bridge. Fun fact: Paterson was founded in 1792 by Alexander Hamilton and the Society for Establishing Useful Manufactures. The city is the first planned industrial center in the United States, and the factories and mills were powered by the Great Falls of the Passaic River.

It’s a great view and falls, but if you’re looking for a good, challenging hike, this is not it. More for tourists to enjoy scenery.
