Goshen Pond Camping Area is a 3.6 mile lightly trafficked out and back trail located near Atco, New Jersey that features a river and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
It wasn't too bad it is definitely ATV trails but we didn't mind the dog like to run around
Did Sunday afternoon and was a bit busy with dog walkers. Trail is actually a sand road with quite a few ATV moguls and soft spots. Nice woodsy area with several access pts to river. Trail continues if you want longer. We drove into parking area vs using gps pt as our start
The trail is more on a main road for off-roaders. If you are coming here for off-roading (4-wheel drive, motorcycle, bicycle), then this trail is definitely for you. But we went here hiking by foot and this type of trail makes us get tired easily and the sandy trail didn’t help at all. The view though is definitley nice with pine barrens all around and sightings of wild deers sometimes.
If you know about and enjoy the off roading trails that make up much of the Pine Barrens in this area, then this is right up your alley. Plenty of trails to choose from, but also a lot of undulations for those who go 4 wheeling back there, making it difficult to get up a good pace.
A lot to offer here. My girlfriend and I made a day trip here last summer. Only downfall was how hot it was but luckily we were prepared. We decided to hit up a trail that was 50 miles long. We didn't do the whole thing but were able to complete about a 10 mile all-around hike. We ventured through the trail until it became a very narrow trail. There was a downed tree blocking part of it about 7 miles in. We could tell no one had been on it for a while. Regardless it was a fun time.
