This is a great little trail. We counted 34 different little gnomes and critters left along the trail. Great hike to take your little ones!

Walking

A walk in the woods in an unexpected place. I've past this trail entrance so many times that I didn't even know it was a public trail. It looks like someone's old driveway. I was here when the leaves were completely off the trees. It made parts of the path a teeny bit hard to follow even though it is marked well. There's nothing great about this path. It's a little boring. The only upside was that you can see the land without the trees blocking the view.

Excellent hike. Lots of blazes so you wont get lost but a bit confusing at times. Easy elevation, lots of turns and overall, a lot of fun. The gnomes in the trail were especially joyful!

Beautiful trail. Many ups and downs. Several places carpeted in yellow s and oranges from the leaves. Little rough for us older folks. A little tight along trail at times.

Hint start the trail by the gate. Many different terrains very pleasant. Bring gnomes we only saw two and many painted rocks. Only saw two people and a dog. Highly recommend this loop.

Really great small trail. not often used so make sure you are paying attention to the trail markers. Some cool old bear caves along the way. Keep your eyes open for little gnomes left along the way.

6/28/2020. R. AMC. Too many NJ and NY people hiking PA so we come to NJ... there are so many great places in NY and in NJ I don’t understand why they come all the way to PA ... while the Gap is a busier than LAX we enjoyed a great peaceful hike. If you go... look for the gnomes.

3/27/2020. We hike the Gnome and the Orange trail just to extend the walk in this March sunny 61 degree day. When Orange crosses yellow it hard to spy where that orange continues as it is not directly across it. The way we walked it orange trail took you to the lake and the building. The park map showed the trail goes behind the building but it’s tight and no markers but we did it. We wondered in the direction we knew we had to go and stumbled upon orange again. Orange back to yellow and back to the Jeep. We found 3 gnomes hidden along the way. Cute

This is a 2 mile loop (the middle section overlaps a bit the way the trail is blazed) in the Gnome Hollow Preserve. I left the parking area to the right and continued out to the furher part of loop. In this section, there is a connecting Orange trail that takes you to the neighboring Frelinghusen Forest Preserve, which i added waypoints to the route for the two intersection points. The section of the trail near the parking area, closest Stillwater Road was not quite as well blazed nor is there as well defined 'beaten path'. I missed a section of switchback when recording, so I back-tracked a few feet to get that switchback recorded on the route.
