Very easy and pleasant hike, I suggest beginning with the gravel path as its the biggest incline on the trail, everything after is easier and more interesting. My fitbit said the hike was 5 miles but either way its not very strenuous.

Good for excercise, not much to see. Trail can get a little confusing. A lot of intersecting trails

I wish the directions would include the colors of the trail to follow. I got off course at least 3 times because the trail map on my phone was so small and hard to read in the sun. If it read- follow trail x to trail y would have been invaluable

We liked this hike a lot. There are many elevation changes. The terrain also changes frequently, so sometimes it’s gravel, other times it’s dirt, other times it’s rocky. All the terrains are fairly easy to hike but the changes keep the hike interesting. We also liked that there were not many other people, even though we went on a beautiful day in June on a Sunday, late morning. Plus, on the trail, you generally feel like you’re away from civilization. You rarely see a house or hear a road. We used the AllTrails App with GPS, which made it mostly simple to stay on the trail. Otherwise, however, it may’ve been tricky at times because the trail markings aren’t always clear, even though the trails themselves are nicely maintained. Our dog loved it!

Shady most of the way, rocky in some areas, gravel in some areas.

I essentially followed Brian's recording from Nov 11, 2018. I did it clockwise. It was essentially red the whole way with the exception of the little add-ons around the lake at the bottom and to the top of the mountain on the top. My phone registered it at about 5.4 miles with about 500 feet of elevation gain. It was pretty much exactly what I wanted today. A relatively casual stroll on a beautiful day. Trails seemed more geared for mountain biking than anything else. Trails were blazed reasonably well, but they were pretty unnecessary with how wide and well traveled the trails were. A lot of it was essentially just gravel roads. The view certainly wasn't spectacular - could make out the nyc skyline. Tourne seems fine for what it is - a place to walk in the woods. I certainly wouldn't do this expecting it to be challenging in any way.

I recorded this trail to be 4.6 miles, slightly more than the 4.3 listed. Some sections are not marked or blazed but the path is still fairly obvious. Intersecting unmarked trails can cause confusion for some. Also the map overlay does not match the trail in some areas. No trail maps available at the trailhead. Very close to homes and heavily trafficked by hikers, joggers, bikers, and several unleashed dogs. Some dog droppings on the trail but otherwise very clean and well maintained. Plenty of parking. A portion of the trail comes close to a small area of the lake. Views from the top are mediocre but could be improved by trimming some trees. Lots of benches.

I went on an early Friday morning and the weather was horrible on the way there. I figured - the downpour will be less in the woods and kept driving and oh boy it was perfect!! By the time I got to the state park it was a light drizzle and it was magical, walking in light rain under these tall trees, just myself and my giant dog lol. Trails are marked ok, I kept my app on though and that worked fine. I took the red trail, then red & blue, then the white trail which was bit more narrow. It's only 30 min drive from our house so I'm planning on making this a morning routing with my dog. We jogged some of it and hiked other parts.
