Total slog, tons of washouts and bushwhacking required.

A great seven mile loop. BUT, be sure to wear knee length rubber boots. Definitely not for sneaker wearers. In many places the trail is flooded, sometimes as much as 6". The white blazes need repainting but it's hard to get lost as the trail is obvious - even if it means traversing giant puddles.

The trail my wife and I walked was not actually the East Creek Loop Trail. Instead it was one of the other loops in Belleplain State Park. Our property boarders the park and we walk there from our house. All of their trails are very well marked and easy to walk. We both love these trails as they give us the ability to walk shorter distances or longer ones depending on our time availability. Our step goal is 10,000 per day and we have found routes that allow us to do shorter distances or the entire goal in one outing. The forest is a very pretty one to visit. We would recommend it to anyone of any ability.

A great trail, but the water hazards were really hazardous. Don’t let the trail description sway your footwear selection, when in doubt, ALWAYS wear boots.

Hiked this trail today. It was great being in the woods. There are many muddy / swampy areas that you want to avoid by going off trail. Wear boots. Enjoy!

Noticed something I didn't get to do on Sunday, so I came back. Parked at Lake Nummy. The first mile was part of East Creek Trail, then I took a bike trail. the first mile and a half of so of the bike trail seemed like it was going in circles. Shortly after, it started to feel like I was getting somewhere. It wasn't great, but it was completely mud and water free. It was also completely secluded.

The first mile and a half had a lot of muddy and washed out spots. So did the last mile and a half. Everything in between was okay. Overall, it was nice. Very secluded. Having to do the last two tenths of a mile on route 347 was a bit of a bummer.

2 beautiful lakes and nice variety throughout the forest. Surprising amount of mountain laurel. Had to go off trail frequently to work around large pools of standing water on the trail.

Pretty well marked. A lot of frozen areas summertime would definitely be muddy. A lot of Cedar Swamp and a couple of noticeable Eco System. Very quiet . Just under 3 hours and 7.1 miles.

Very nice trail , well marked. Completed around 2hr 40 mins. Hiked in the morning just after the sunrise. Saw 0 people on the trail. Some sections were slightly flooded even though there hasn’t really been any serious rainfall in a couple weeks. Flooded areas were easy to navigate around, just follow the newly trampled path set by recent hikers. I had on regular high ankle hiking boots which worked out fine. Definitely do not walk after multiple rain storms without the proper footwear.

Nice easy trail. Only saw a couple hikers on a Monday afternoon. There were some pretty flooded areas. Found a tick crawling on the dog. Overall enjoyed it and will definitely go again

I loved it but I like some bushwhacking to keep things interesting. After 5 dry days, I did this as a trail run and still saw the trail was completely flooded at mile 1.5 and at 5.9. I slipped and fell in water the first time I did it. This time I was luckier. Really fun if getting muddy isn’t a bad thing for you. I loved it. Didn’t even realize the great workout I got because the scenery was so beautiful
