Trailhead is adjacent to the parking lot. Follow marked trail to the Atlantic Ocean. Lots of ticks in spring.

Yellow trail is an easy path to a nice beach with lots of shells. Don't go on the red path unless you want Lyme disease. This map shows both the red and yellow trails.

The part of the trail that goes from the parking lot to the beach is great. It is well maintained and easy to traverse. Good for small children. Part of the trail is along the beach where there are a ton of shells. We did not find the bugs as bad as some of the other reviewers. We went mid day during early August. It isn't very shady, so I would recommend doing it early or on a cloudy day.

The part of the trail that is along the highway does not appear to be maintained any longer. It is extremely overgrown. I would not recommend going on that part of the trail.

You will be eaten alive on this trail. We took it to get to the ocean not realizing how thick the brush is. Definitely spray yourself with repellent. We walked this in mid-August around 2pm in perfect weather.

If it's the right conditions (May with south west winds) this place can be a gold mine for birds. Winter the trails are dead but the inlet is full with loons, grebes, and much more
