Brookdale Park Outer Loop is a 1.7 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Montclair, New Jersey and is good for all skill levels. The trail is primarily used for walking, running, and road biking and is accessible year-round. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.
Accessibility: This asphalt trail is estimated to typically range from 7-9 feet wide. The slope is steep in some sections and is estimated to range from 0-11% grade. The steepest portions are at the 0.3 and 1.5 mile mark and have been marked with waypoints. Trail goers with limited mobility or mobility equipment may need assistance during these steep sections. There is likely ADA-compliant car parking within the Brookdale Park.

October 22, 2020Very pleasant trail in a well maintained park. Rated high for what it is, a flat, macadam, walking trail. Leash dog friendly and bikes not permitted except on dedicated lane on vehicular roadway. Our furry friend always detours over to the nicer than average dog park split small dog/ large dog. Walk the outer loop followed by the inner loop for a total of just under 3 mi.

August 16, 2020July 13, 2020Great trail to go with all of your family. I saw 10+ bird spices! paved trail not crowded. Beautiful nature. I did not bring my dog because it was my first time there. but I love it I will go there another time. overall the best trail I ever went to! There is a dog park for a little and big dogs.If you bring your dog I recommend going on a weekday. because a person said it was crowded on the weekends.

April 6, 2020No bikes allowed on walkways, only on the roads. Good loop walk with a variety of trees and playing fields.

First to ReviewSeen Golden Eagles to rugby games. A lonely paved loop with a Parcourse/fitness station trail for a more suburban walk/run/stroller walk. I enjoy the wooded area especially, and the rose garden, which is a good sledding hill in the winter. Dog park has 2 sections for small dogs & big dogs. 1.6 mile loop.
