A great day hike with the reward of a swim in the Wenonah Lake (open Memorial Day to Labor Day). This hike links many of the Woods of Wenonah trails together. Starting at the Break Back Run Trial, travel SW along a stream. Keep an eye out for deer, Red fox, Red tail hawks and wild turkey. Follow to the Clay Hill trail to the George Eldridge Trail to the Langstons Lake Loop Trail. The Tea House at the N end of the Lake is a good spot for lunch before you follow your footsteps back to the Wenonah Lake parking area.

The northern portion of this trail around the lake seems to be washed out, I could see the path under the river. Going south through the conservation area is nice, but there are definitely some steep inclines and such along the way. I think maybe a moderate rating would be better appropriate for that portion. All together it was a nice walk in the woods.

I read some of the reviews before mine and found alot of mixed feelings about the trail. So there is a small parking area by the lake and the entrance to the walking trails. I went in a circle at first because I didn't realized the trail continued around the lake. That trail I should've taken was a bit grown over but when I went back to it, I forged ahead. This is not a flat trail by any stretch. Easy in the sense of hiking but not in the sense of just leisurely walking. I enjoyed this trail and still early in the season that the bugs were not bad. It is in a neighborhood so I think many of the neighbors came out to walk the trail which made the foot traffic higher than I wouldv'e liked to have seen. I rate this trail a 3 because it wasn't "spectacular" but it was well maintained with laid wooden walking sections.

nice wooded trail..not ideal for running...hiking yes ... i found track tracks nearby and run the tracks a few miles instead of trail.... 5 miles on tracks are very challenging

Great trail. Rating of easy is not accurate for casual hikers or anyone not in top shape. Also ... and this is the reason for my review ... whitewater? Really? Who does these descriptions? This is the 2nd one I've found that is very misleading. This rating is for the description, not the trail

Nice trail. Skip the extra stuff past the end of the lake. The trail gets fuzzy there.

The rating is not because of the trail but because of the "easy" label. For anyone who has lost some agility for age or whatever reason, it is not easy. Steep slopes, unmarked, roots, slippery. It is a beautiful and relaxing hike but certainly not easy, especially the Break Back Run part of it. I bailed out half way through. First time I have had to do it based on AllTrails ratings.

All wooded, nice lake and streams with footbridges but trail was overgrown in several areas and difficult to follow at some points. Plenty of parking but minimal marking.

A little dirty around Wenonah Lake. Break Back trail was well kept and provided a lot of shade in the many gullies along the way. New footbridges were a pleasant surprise.

Did this trail with a group—connected it with some of the other Wenonah trails and Tall Pines. Great hills and varied terrain. Saw several groups out doing trail maintenance—a great set of trails!

If you stay on the trail, you can muster a nice 6+mile out and back. The trail is well maintained and elevated boards will keep your feet dry throughout. The scenery is rich with woodland, wetland, and ponds/lakes. Wenonah was once home to many Philadelphia vacationers who would come during the Summer to swim in the lakes, but since the lakes have somewhat dried up and become less popular meaning less maintenance. You can still observe the old architecture of a once hotbed for tourists and summer camps.

A lovely trail. Once you get hiking the forest engulfs. It felt like I was in a remote area and not on a city trail in suburbia. Trail Candy

Took my kids. A bit marshy due to the lake, and very buggy. Path is not clearly defined, but it’s not a big area so it’s not a big deal.

Conveniently located, with multiple access points and route options. Great bird watching too! Kudos to the volunteers that have put so much TLC into the upkeep of these paths. If you haven't been there recently, give it another shot!
