My favorite trail. A bit buggy in the summer. Definitely need to work up to it.

The Ted Stiles Preserve at Baldpate Mountain definitely tops my list of hikes within an hour drive of Philadelphia. Depending which part of the trail you're on, the landscape and scenery are pretty diverse, with a nice leisurely walk through the woods on one end and a bushwhacking descent/climb at the other. No part of the hike ever felt overly-challenging, which made the 7.3 miles fly by.

One note to dog owners: some of the trail gets narrow and overgrown in parts—we pulled over a dozen ticks off our Husky when all was said and done.
