Zealand Hut Trail is a 5.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Bretton Woods, New Hampshire that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking.
Perfect hike, amazing views. great mix of flat, gentle elevation, rocks and waterfalls.
10/18 there was about 9 - 12 inches of snow, too soft for crampons, too little for snow shoes, perfect amount for some butt sliding.
Absolutely amazing, one spot with breathtaking views. Near Zealand Hut and Pond it’s unbelievable too. What an awesome spot .
This trail is very easy, with the exception of 2 river/stream crossings and a steep scramble up for the last 0.2 miles. I assume that this is why it is rated moderate instead of easy. The scenery throughout the entire trail is gorgeous, with several lakes, and great views of pines and mountains
Nice trail, nice views. Went up to Zealand Cliff and had a gorgeous view from up there.
Awesome, easygoing trail, great for a fall walk in the woods. Much of it felt like an enchanted forest walk. Most of the trail walks alongside water of some sort, whether brook, pond, or waterfall. Multiple small waterfalls to be seen. Watch your feet on a wet day on the small portions of trail that have some rocks.
Very nice walk through the wetlands with gorgeous views of the landscape. Intense incline from the hut to the Zeacliff. Views at Zeacliff definitely worth the struggle.
My favorite trail so far! Highly recommend. Easy side of moderate. About 10 miles round trip. If you do Zealand Falls too add a mile.
One of my all time favorite trails. The trail is pretty easy until the last 2/10 of a mile which is very steep and rocky. The trail follows a river with some great rocks to sit on and have a snack or take a break. There are also two lakes with amazing views of the surrounding mountains. An exceptionally well maintained trail. The hut on the top has a public restroom and a place to refill water. Bring a mask/bandanna/buff if you want to go into the hut.
Went up to Zealand Hut then on to Zeacliff overlook. Decided to come down Zeacliff trail. It was quite the hike down. Probably would have been easier going up that way. Next time.
