If I were to do it again I'd stay the night, I wouldn't do it in a day. The hike up Zealand is, in my opinion, one of the easier hikes I've done. From there it's short distances of descending then climbing again to the next peak. A good part of it is walking along the peaks which is incredible! The views are just amazing! We had reached all 5 peaks in 6 hours. It's the descend thats incredibly grueling. After Bondcliff it's 9 miles of descending before you reach Lincoln Woods. The first 4.5 miles are coming down Bondcliff so a lot of rocks which is very hard on the knees. Then you reach LW trail, it's almost 5 miles of and old railroad bed, flat and straight. Even though the road is very easy, at the end of a hike that long it just seemed like it was never ending! Again, if I were to do it again I'd leave bikes at the beginning of that 5 mile stretch so I could ride those down the road instead of walking it.
