Turkey Pond, Forest Floor, Old Orchard, and St Paul's School Loop is a 2.6 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Concord, New Hampshire that features a lake and is good for all skill levels. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from April until October.
Take I-89 to exit 2, turn left off of the ramp onto Clinton Street. At the first blinking light, turn right onto Silk Farm Road. The entrance to the McLane Center is on the left. Most trails begin at the trailhead near the kiosk. Forest Floor Trail (Red Markers): This trail is a short, easy walk through a white pine forest. Wildflowers are abundant during the spring and summer. This trail begins behind the building by the raptor mews.
I started at the end of Silk Farm road where the gate is by I89. Walked back up the road 100 yards to the paved bike path and took that a ways until I got into the woods. Then I did the Turkey Pond loop and came back the Old orchard trail, back to the Turkey Pond trail. This took me back to the bike trail and back to where I parked. For those looking for a shorter hike and to avoid the paved biking trail you can access the Turkey Pond loop from the NH Audubon parking lot. Overall good hike, I just took a longer route than I expected
Overall a very nice set of trails. You never quite get away from road noise (part of the trail is next to a road) but that’s to be expected so close to downtown Concord.
great trails. it is rocky and alot of roots like others said, but not bad if you watch your footing. if you start on the red trail you get to see some stick teepees and there is a cool treehouse you can check out. my only issue was you can still hear the traffic noise from the highway, but there's nothing anyone can do about that. all in all an excellent hike
Great trail! Wear hiking boots lots of rocks and roots making it a little rough
A nice easy hike in and out. Very well marked with color codes for each trail. Some of the trails are on private property. Overall a nice quiet easy hike.
As beginner friendly of a trail as one could ask for. Well maintained and well kept. Would be good for kids or those looking for something easy. Very flat. Do not bring your pup for this one.
Nice day for a hike no wildlife at all and trail was real rocky and lots of roots did the red trail to the yellow then took the west end farm trail to the bike path which was really nice then followed that to silk farm road up to the Audubon Society
