The Balsam's Wilderness [CLOSED] is a 3.4 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Colebrook, New Hampshire that features a lake and is rated as moderate. The trail offers a number of activity options and is best used from May until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail but must be kept on leash.

This area is closed. I drove in and passed “Closed Authorized Vehicles Only” signs to find the trail head. Found some trail signs, but no trails. Quite overgrown and unmaintained. Been out of commission for a few years it looks like.

Beautiful resort. Stayed here with my wife in 2007. Lots of hiking and skiing to be done near the hotel, moments from impressive views of Dixville Notch, it was a real treat.
