South Ridge from North Mountain Trail is a 4.8 mile moderately trafficked loop trail located near Deerfield, New Hampshire that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and nature trips and is accessible year-round.
Pawtuckaway State Park charges a fee to enter. Fees are $5 per adult and $2 per child (age 6-11). Season passes are also available for purchase. Reservations and fees are not required for hiking during winter months (December - March). https://www.nhstateparks.org/visit/state-parks/pawtuckaway-state-park. Pets are allowed through the main gate for hiking before Memorial Day weekend in May and after Columbus Day weekend in October.
The trail is well marked and wide. The only moderate part would be near South Mountain and it barely clears the hurdle to be called moderate. The snow is mostly melted and there was some ice. Everyone I saw on the trails was bare booted but I wore micro spikes so I wouldn’t have anything to worry about. Great day and second time on South Mountain in 2021.
