Great point to point hike, that includes the top of Jennings with spectacular views and listening to a cascading brook all the way down to the highway. Not a lot of snow on this trail, which was great versus others spots in the White Mountains this spring

The trail & scenery were beautiful! We hiked in mid-March & it was very icy, however. Micro spikes are an absolute necessity & even with those.. we had to scramble & scoot down on some steep parts. There are multiple different trails to take & we absolutely became lost at a few points because there were a limited number of maps and the signs were misleading. We’ve been on several hikes in the white mountains & this was definitely the most confusing. We were practically the only people out there though & the few waterfalls/streams along the hike are very peaceful. Still enjoyed ourselves, just definitely not “easy” in the winter due to ice.

Beautiful winter hike. The trail is snow covered with a few icy spots. We had snowshoes, but micro spikes would have been sufficient.

We did the 3 mile loop in mid November. It was an easy hike next to the brook. We had to scramble through the first few steps because it was icy on the steps. But the rest of the hike was an easy walk with few ups and downs. Didn’t feel like there was much elevation gain.

Nice sunny day!

Easy hiking uphill and down. Very shady and scenic along brook. Couple of swimmers (waders) at the swimming area, saw handful of people and dogs along the trail on a Saturday in August. Nice!

we just went up Smarts Brook trail about a little over a mile with our dog. it was beautiful and quiet and the river was awesome. We picked out at least 3 picnic/swimming areas where we can come back with our 9 year old. Jogged back, great trail for trail running.

Great, mostly flat trail that we did end of February on a warm day. We didn't need snow shoes, just treaded on the stomped part of the trail, occasionally falling through - fun for the kids! We took Smarts Brook trail fist and then Tritown Trail. The river along the Smarts Brook trail was a pretty sight.
