The road to the trailhead was closed and so required an additional climb to get to the trailhead. The trail is in good shape and the snow is well packed although there are some icy areas and at one point we had to do some rock hopping over a shallow stream. We didn’t see anybody else on the trail. The waterfall is gorgeous and icy this time of year. Highly recommended quick hike.

Good short hike (less than an hour round trip) to Ripley Falls. You can park at the end of a recently patched asphalt road going park way up the slope.

This .6 mile hike into Ripley’s Fall is so worth the journey. There are a lot of rocks and roots to traverse. The path is narrow in places and it was a little wet in places (we went in Sept, probably is very wet in Spring). The granite face of the falls is amazing, creating more of a water slide then falls. The slab is wide so I would imagine in the Spring it’s even more grand.

Trail was super easy to navigate and it didn’t take long at all to reach the base of the falls. A little more climbing brings you to the top where I was able to sit with my dog and enjoy the views and the sound of the rushing water. Would totally recommend for any skill level!

This trail was so much fun for our family to hike! The perfect amount of a challenge for our 5 and 7 year olds, and the waterfall is beautiful! The kids had a ball walking and splashing in the water.

Nice, quick hike with tons of roots and mud along the way. The waterfall was beautiful! This trail is between easy/moderate, mostly for the quick elevation gain and small parts with climbing. Not bad, but watch your kids on the narrow parts.

Great family trail with an amazing water feature at the end.

Easy .5mile hike to the falls. A quick pitstop of an hour tops.

A beginner’s perspective:
This is a 5.2 mile, rocky hike. There are all sorts of rocks on this route - big rocks, medium rocks, ankle-twisting rocks, even a steep-ish rock face. So be prepared for that. And roots too.

The “moderate” rating may be true for the Presidentials, but is NOT comparable to, say Mount Monadnock’s “hard” rating. For a somewhat in-shape guy, this was doable, but a test — and I needed to watch literally every step.

The payoff is a beautiful summit, gorgeous views, and Gray Jays that will eat from your hand. Overall, a real test for flatlanders like me, but nice views and a great summit made it worth the considerable effort! (For what it’s worth, our 13 and 15 year olds had no major issues other than a lot of sweat and a few sore muscles)

Def not easy. Moderate would be more fitting. The view is so worth it!! Trail has muddy spots so gotta be careful.

Great short hike. I’m a beginning hiker in moderate shape and it took about 20-25 minutes. Drive up the driveway and park, there is no need to park at the end. Also, if you can do I highly recommend you hike up to the top of the falls, it’s very steep but the view is the best.

Very easy hike and quick. Such a beautiful waterfall at the end

Fairly steep and rocky, but short and enjoyable. Falls are worth it.

It may be short but it is NOT easy! Well worth it but I’m glad I didn’t try this one with my daughter or mother based on the “easy” rating lol

The falls are much bigger than I expected for the short hike. I’m glad I didn’t take the trail from the Frankenstein cliff trail side, it looks treacherous!

Rocky uphill start. But well worth the uphill hike with the ending falls view

Amazing! Falls were full with spring run-off. First 2-300 yards is moderate then trail levels off until the falls.
We were unable to cross at the splash basin because of current and wet rocks.
Takes about an hour or so in and about 40 mins out. (Sign at road says 20 mins.)
Beautiful falls, my second time. Will go again!

Nice easy trail for beginners.

Somewhat steep at parts, but levels out quickly. Can get narrow, but still, very doable footing. Made it with no problems with my dog. Falls are gorgeous with plenty of opportunity for photo-ops. Trail head is a little hard to see when you cross the train tracks (we weren't sure which way to go initially) but clearly marked once you find it. Park at the top of the road near the trailhead, or else the walk from your car is worse than the hike itself!

Good, short hike but NOT easy. Beautiful falls at the end. Def not for kids and only for those sure footed. Several near-scramble sections, lots of rocks.

Tip- drive UP the driveway to park at the trailhead. You don’t have to park at the road. :)

A nice and short trail. Very easy to reach the falls. If possible, extend the hike to the top of the falls by crossing the stream and taking the trail on the left of the falls.

It was a nice day for a hike and the falls were beautiful. The trail is a bit slippery and the roots like to grab at you but all in all a beautiful hike. It has some steep grades and while it is classified as easy it was a good challenge.

i wouldn't call this an "easy" hike as it was very steep. more of an intermediate trail. still suitable for any skill level if you take your time and take breaks. rewarding view at the end!

Great falls
Short easy hike

Although not a long distance, trail is more moderate and would not recommend for young kids, or adults that are not sure footed.

Short hike and fair mostly up hill. Beautiful waterfall.

Very easy walk to the waterfall. Stopped here on my way to a more difficult hike and enjoyed my lunch at the bottom of the waterfall. (No picnic tables just a nice spot to relax and sit on a blanket)

Great hike with kids. The view at the top is spectacular.
