This is a terrific relatively easy hike in/out. Well maintained trail. We saw only a few other people Went up past the A Trail shelter.

Very easy walk perfect for families or new hikers. Beautiful setting. I'm imaging it would be awesome in warmer weather to take a dip in swimming holes near Rattle River Shelter!! Dogs loved it too!

Very nice walk in to shelter. Gradual incline, nothing technical or difficult. The river runs along side the trail for a while and is a nice refreshing rest area at the shelter. If you go in another .3 of a mile there is a watering hole you can Relax in.

Part of the Appalachian trail. Easy hike/walk next to the river. Right off 2, big parking lot. I stopped for a quick rest from driving and only hiked about a mile or so in, but it was a nice break on my way through NH.
