A sketchy path, but lovely falls. The trail is very short and you get to see 3 waterfalls - each with their own unique characteristics. It is a very narrow path (under 2 feet wide) and meanders along the vertical drop off to the brook. The Townline Brook ravine is deep so slipping off the trail would result in very serious injury. The first falls to be seen are Proteus Falls, then Erebus Falls and at the top; Evans Falls. Proteus is an early sea-god, one of several beings whom Homer calls the "The Old Man in the Sea" - Erebus is also greek - Erebus is used to refer to a region of the underworld where the dead had to pass immediately after dying. The falls are slightly different from each other. Proteus is a 25 foot drop, as is Erebus and Evans is a small 12 foot drop.

Pretty cool was able to do with 6 year old he needed a little assistance at a couple of spots. I bet it’s spectacular in the spring.

Decent hike. Definitely a rougher trail in my opinion. Falls didn’t have much water when we did this hike

wonderful take in, water was low when we visited, which was actually really cool, as you could see how the water had carved out the ravine over the years. was a little sketchy with my 7 and 8 year old but nothing too bad.

Poorly blaze but the path as well worn so no real chance of getting lost train is definitely difficult lots of steep parts. Would be best scene in mid spring after winter thaw. Well worth the trip at any time though.

Gorgeous falls, but the trail gets overgrown towards the top, and it’s hard to follow. Trail starts right after the bridge. Starts off easy, then gets very steep. Wear sensible shoes for this “easy” hike. June 13, 2020

Wasn’t the easiest trail to find to begin with. Poorly marked along the way and tons of gnats. More than your usual hike. Bring bug spray! However these downsides, the falls themselves were beautiful.

Absolutely gorgeous but I wouldn’t call it “easy”. You need hiking boots and don’t bring your great grandma. Very slippery but worth it.
