Hiked in the rain. Still pretty but there were some big puddles to dodge and bugs were out. Saw two orange newts on the carriage road on our descent. No view today!

Great trail! Starts out with a pretty water stream and a bridge. Moderately wooded and mostly incline until you get all the way to the lookout. We hiked with our 2.5yr old toddler who for the good part enjoyed the trail too but wouldn’t recommend for young kids/toddlers because of the steep incline/decline with lose rocks. The lookout had a better view than the summit of the nearby lake region and the mountains in the distance. Large rock formations as you approach the final stretch of your ascent.

I did the trail counter clockwise and the way up was steadily steep. As I neared the top I noticed increasing rocks and boulders. The top was very rocky and flat. A few views of different angles around the lakes region. Very peaceful. Hike down was very pleasant. But the last mile or so was a road, about half paved. Was still very secluded and followed a pretty brook. I went around 8:30-10:30 and the bugs were not bad at all.

This hike is pretty cool! On our way up we found a baby blue jay that had fallen out of his nest. We corralled him with sticks to make sure nobody else stepped on him. We made sure not to touch him though, so hopefully he’s doing better! There’s a bridge at the beginning of this hike, and it gets rockier at the top. Closer to the summit, there are really awesome rock formations that have been formed. Not the best view for a sunset, but probably good for sunrise! We personally felt the the look out was better NOT at the summit.

Steep and rocky at some points but very well worth the hike. Views are beautiful and the trail was well maintained. We went up Piper Mt. Trail and back down the way we did because we didn't want to walk on the road. A bit buggy at the top, bring bugspray.

My dog and I loved this trail! Minimally challenging, beautiful view at the top with a large area to sit and relax, and well shaded trails. No bugs yet either. Parking was down the road quite a ways so prepare to get to the trail early in order to find a spot. The last mile or so of the trail was dirt road so be prepared for that, as well.

Great short hike straight up to the top! We chose not to do the loop to avoid having to walk along the road, but the Piper Mountain Trail (marked red) made for a great hike today. Kinda buggy at the top, but no issues with them while walking up.

Great trail! Steady uphill throughout and very buggy. We got a little lost half way up.. as the trail went from well marked to trees down and heavy leaves. We found the trail again after 5 or so minutes. We only saw one other person on the trail today as well. The view at the top is spectacular!

Went at around 11am and it was a bit buggy going up. Some steep areas but overall not a bad hike. Going back down through the loop route was less buggy

Really nice hike for people who aren’t intense hikers!! The journey to the top keeps at a steep incline, sometimes evening out, for about a 45 minute hike. But, the way back down is all down hill and takes only about 30ish minutes!

Really great hike with family both moderately experienced and beginner hikers in our group and was a fun trail for all! We took the red blazes up and then started our descent on the orange trail which turned into the white trail leading to the upper parking lot. Because we hiked in March we had to park at the lower lot so just followed the road down to the lower lot for about a mile. Red trail was in good condition. 2 in our group were wearing sneakers and were just fine. A little slick in a couple parts but not bad. The two wearing sneakers had to put on spikes for the majority of the orange trail because trail was snowy and slick for longer periods of time and it couldn’t be avoided. Great hike and only ran into 2-3 groups!
