Previous reviews were helpful and accurate. It is not well marked but very interesting and enjoyable hike on a mild, still big free afternoon!

Poorly marked trail from a mile in on. Not a hard hike but a lot of attention needed to find and stay on the right track.

Hardly any trail markings making it easy to miss the turns for the loop. We ended up walking through tons of branches and roots and poor walking conditions. Used our map on this app to follow the trail because there were so few markings. Do not recommend if you’re used to more groomed trails

First to Review

Interesting trails from very easy, wide and well marked to narrow, somewhat overgrown and hard to follow. NIce walk through varied terrain and trail type. Bean River Trail starts up old road and across a stream and at a junction the Cellar Hole Trail goes right and up hill to Stevens HIll. and then passes the power line trail on the right. At a fork the Peaked HIll Trail goes to the right and narrows to a fairly wide path through the woods. It then crosses into the power lines and follows them for a while. It then continues back into the woods and that is hard to find. After returning to the woods the trail becomes a narrow winding woods path fairly rocky and steep for a while (this part only recommended for very capable xcountry skiers), It levels and continues to wander through woods with some wild flowers, passes a black gum swamp and a passes a logged area. It climbs a bit after this and then comes to a junction. Going to the right brings you to the shore of a pond and to the left is the Big Mulligan Trail which brings you back to the first junction with the Peaked Hill Trail. The trail through this area is also a bit difficult to follow, it appeared to be failry new and not well tracked. It is very doable but you have to pay attention to the blazes and in some areas you have to hunt a bit to find them. At the junction follow the Peaked Hill, Cellar Hole and Bean River Trails Back to the Start.
