Climbing up the north slide and down the south slide is good advice. North slide was fun, steeper than I expected, with some good views. South slide is more gravelly so it would be a chug going up and it’s a little slippery coming down but still better that coming down the North slide. Livermore and the rest of the trail is in good shape. Bugs / gnats / black flies were vicious on the slides but no problem with bugs on the rest of the hike. They must like the warmth of the rock slides. Great hike overall.
