Mount Tecumseh Trail is a 6.2 mile moderately trafficked out and back trail located near Waterville Valley, New Hampshire that features beautiful wild flowers and is rated as moderate. The trail is primarily used for hiking and is best used from April until October. Dogs are also able to use this trail.
One of the easier New Hampshire 4k Mountains. In and out hike through the Tecumseh Trail that traverses through a couple of brooks and fairly dense forest.

Take I-93 until Tripoli Rd. 5.25 miles into tripoli Rd you will find the parking lot at the right. This is a Parking Fee area that charges $3 (cash) for day use (or yearly parking permit).
From the gate on Tripoli rd to the Tecumseh trailhead is about 4 miles. Its groomed all the way up to the Osceola trailhead (about 2/3 of the way) after that snowshoes will come in handy. I found I needed to change to microspikes just before the summit to get up the steepest part. Theres a few small obstructed views along the way to the summit view (just enough to catch a glimpse of a peak or two if you lean your head the right way and maybe squint a bit xD
This trail was far easier than the one by the ski lot. Was warm out (32-36F) but microspikes are def needed at the halfway point. Couple patches of water to navigate right from the start, but look left bc someone hooked up a pallet for you to cross.
trail was well cleared and easy to follow. very foggy and wet, no views at the top, and a little muddy on the way back
Nice hike. Relatively easy. Little Steep at the top. Views are ok at the summit looking NE but it’s mostly tree covered. Good hike to acclimate yourself to hiking the Whites and ticks a box on the NH48!
There are two different trailheads for this mountain. My friend and I accidentally took the "alternative" route, which is on this page (there's two separate pages for the two trails that are named the same thing) which is the trailhead off of Tripoli Rd (a dirt road). The parking lot is very small and free. I believe that you have to pay $3 at the other trailhead that is on the opposite side of the mountain, so that is how you can tell where you are. It starts off with having to cross a small brook and then continuing at a very steep incline. The only trail marker that we saw along the way (besides the sign for the trailhead at the beginning) was a cairn. As you keep going, you eventually reach a false peak, which had a small but pretty view. From there, you start to continue downhill for awhile and then eventually make your way back up to reach the actual peak. It is quite the rock scramble towards the top from this direction, but generally manageable. It was a small peak, but we hiked relatively early on a Wednesday, and it was abandoned until two people and their dog showed up having come from the other trail (I'm not sure I would recommend dogs hiking on the trail that we took). The view was very nice, though it was slightly obscured by trees. The smallness of the peak made it almost cozy in a way. On our way down, we started to pass more people. It took us approximately 2 hours to reach the peak and 1 1/2 hours to make it down.
Completed this one of the easiest 4000 footers. Trail was crowded on the way and mostly at the peak. There are at least 2 trails that take you to top, however there no much space at the summit. Summit has decent views. Most of the trail is wooded and there is steep rocky section towards the summit. Trail looks especially beautiful with foliage colors. I would recommend this as warmup hike before attempting presidentials.
Trail was in great shape! It rained overnight and there were some blow downs but it was a beautiful fall day. The only downfall was too many people at the summit-I couldn’t have my snacks up there but found a sunny spot down below.
The view at the top was okay, good trail overall with some parts that were harder than expected.
Easy side of moderate hike. Some short staircases near the summit. Did it with my 8 and 10 year old. Great pitch start to finish thru the forest. Alone the round trip would have taken me maybe 3.5 hours with short stops
