HikingGreat!

Starts out with a nice smooth pine covered trail that is fairly wide. Goes up on a ridge through a beautiful mostly pine forest. When you get closer to the top, the trail gets a lot rougher with roots and stones but it’s still not too bad. Some of the views at the top are really spectacular with Squam Lake in the foreground and Lake Winnepesaukee in the background. Very dramatic and beautiful. The little spur off the loop at the top doesn’t really go anywhere and it’s not really worth doing unless you like to climb down and climb back up at short distance. Definitely a nice trail!

RunningGreat!

Great trail for some quiet hiking, trail running, and amazing views of Squam Lake and southfacing mountains. The trail doesn't have a ton of trail markers so it's easy to get a little lost. My one recommendation is: once you hit the spotted salamander natural pond a little past halfway up the from the trailhead, there is a fork on the trail. To get to the lookout points, take the left. If you take the right it does not have as many good views.

Good trail, not many people at all. Only passed three others. 2.5 hours round trip with a couple stops at each summit. Tried to head towards the left after the summits to find the third outlook, but the path thinned out and decided to turn around. Would go again!

Enjoyable hike, as others have noted it’s a bit confusing near and at the end. Bring some insect repellent.

so I've been up this trail 3X's - today was the first time I actually found the "summit." There are 2 lookouts, that most people mistake for the peak but they most certainly are not. although hiking to the first lookout and heading back is just fine too as it's a nice hike. The trail at top is very confusing, no markers, different trails that shoot off and lead to pretty much nowhere. The dogs and I spent about an hour wondering around through the woods trying to find the actual peak, finally did and it's breathtaking views were worth the struggle, but man what a PIA! I wish someone would go up and put some markers up for people. I dont think most people even know they never hit the summit, cuz the first lookout definitely makes you think you have. All in all, great hike, good incline the while way, beautiful old forest. About 4 miles total. Bring bug spray.

Went yesterday and it was a very nice hike and moderate in length! A bit confusing at certain points because there was lots of crossroads and they weren’t properly marked either. Went to the first peak and that was it because we couldn’t find the others but overall pretty good and kinda buggy and muddy though tolerable.

Great views at the top, although super buggy and sort of a confusing trail to follow, especially at the top. There’s also a segment where you walk away from the path to get to the first nice view, after which you have to turn around to go back the other way. Great uphill hike!

No view for sunset, but would be a great one for sunrise! Mostly road until it gets to trail. Was a bit muddy. Took about 1hr to get up. 30/40 to get down
