Dec. 2 trip report - parked at Morgan and went counter-clockwise up Percival first. You can tell it's "in between" season when you're the only car in this normally busy lot at 10AM (also - gloomy weekday). This was 2 days after ~2 inches of rain....so it looked like springtime, with water everywhere - streams all full and muddy in all the usual spots. No ice experienced...other than puddles at the very peak of Percival and some crunchy leaves when first coming down Morgan.....so no micro-spikes needed on this day. LIght snow flurries when coming down Morgan.

Stunning southerly views from both mountains, but limited views to the north. Ladder and cave on Morgan was exciting, but so glad was dry after previous nights rains. Chose caves rather than cliffs to descend Percival, and caves were tight in spots.

Hiked on 11/7 with my two young kids (6&8). They did fairly well, just took us a long time due to the leaf cover on the trail. The leaves made it very slippery. The ladders were a bit sketchy but my kids loved them. Ran our of time for the caves on the way down Percival. Definitely recommend going up Morgan and down Percival. Views were fantastic, especially from Morgan. Looking forward to trying this again in the spring or summer when there aren't any leaves on the trail.

Great trail! Very well marked. As recommend I did the climb to Mt Morgan first then to Mt Percival and down. Glad I did as the bounding down Mt Percival would have been hard going up! Had a beautiful 70° day in November. The view was spectacular at the top of each peak on the gorgeous day, can’t imagine how great the colors of the fall had been earlier in the season. The fallen leaves made it tricky but glad I brought my trekking poles!

Such a fun hike! Loved having ladders, caves, and a few squeezes, along with two peaks and a loop trail. Got to the trail at 915 and the small lot at Mount Morgan was full, but there still space in the Percival lot. Total hike time was about 3hr 15 mins. Although the trail was not wet, the leaves on the ground did make the hike more difficult. I'm sure this hike in spring-summer is a breeze!

Great hike that was really easy to follow. A couple of tricky bits if you aren’t very tall/agile but fine for most. Really fun having ladders, caves and a double peak in one hike! Deep leaves in some parts so bring poles if you can. Also advise parking early - it was pretty much full by the time we arrived at 9am on a Saturday.

A great hike. More challenging than expected. The decent from Percival was hard w the huge boulders to navigate and tight caves. Worth the effort, but important to note. Well marked w yellow blazes. Slippery leaves in abundance to be expected this time of year but definitely slowed us down a bit. Ladders and caves were fun.

Moderately-heavy trafficked. There was no parking at the main lot so I headed down the road about a half mile and parked there. Don’t park on the road if you want to avoid a ticket. Super slippery with the mud and leaves but it was sunny and 78 and a beautiful day to hike.

Going up Morgan was hard but it was what is to be expected for climbing a mountain. The ridge line to pervical was nice. The view was beautiful. The

Terrific hike. Went up Morgan and down Percival. Sunny and mid 40s but not much wind. Beautiful views of Squam and Winnipesaukee. Watch your footing coming down Percival. Leaves make the trail slick and difficult to see the footing.

Honestly such an amazing hike! Some challenging parts being 5’1” but I loved the thrill of it! I would not go this way if you have a dog unless you can carry them while climbing. There is a ladder part and then you go threw a tunnel! The tunnel is not very big so you might have to take off your backpack (my boyfriend did) 5’10”. If you’re claustrophobic the tunnel may not be for you, although it’s a short tunnel. Saw a giant wood pecker and some blue jays!

Did this trail 10/17/20, the foliage was beautiful. I went up Morgan and down Percival. There is one point on this trail where you will encounter ladders and right after the ladders there is another challenging rock scramble, I think its safer to handle these going up, rather than down (which is why i’d go up Morgan and down Percival). Some of the rocks were pretty slick (went after a rainfall), so just be careful. Overall the trail is a great one. Its well marked, and the views at the summit will not disappoint! Enjoy!

Some crazy ladder scrambles and boulder cave squeezes. Sadly, WAY too many people on the trail and very little trail etiquette, forget COVID. Encountered several parties off trail that didn't seem to know to backtrack to last trail marking. Morgan and Rattlesnake lots full before 9. Percival half full. When we got down at 2, parking was out of control. Someone had parked blocking exit. Cars all along roadside under posted no parking signs. Made a great hike a sad situation.

we made the happy mistake of taking the trailhead off the p.lot to the right ( not Mt Morgan trail) but were so glad we did because about 1/2 mile up maybe less there was a stunning view of the lake covers in locast clouds. after a few minutes taking in the view we turned around and headed back down to the lot on the left side of the road. you know ur headed up Mt Morgan if the trailhead has 2 poles with a big chain across them the trail is well marked, just follow the yellow trail blazers. a short way in there is potential to get mixed up. the trail goes to the right but there is also what looks like a tote road type path that goes up, don't go there, stay to the right. the ladder was scary to me but not the kids.the caves were awesome! this apps downloaded map was very helpful in keeping on on track. at the end we went out the wrong p.lot but the map got us back on track. it was 20 degrees at 7am, be prepared!
