Fantastic views! Variety of terrain! Unpredictable weather! And lots of up, up, up!
Lucked out for weather but the descent from Jackson and Webster is pretty brutal.
Awesome trail with beautiful weather today. Could get water at Madison, Washington, and Lake of the Clouds (but I’m not sure for how much longer). The full trail (all peaks as shown on AllTrails) took 10.5hrs including breaks.
Obviously amazing. Beautiful day. Rocks pretty much the entire route. I Incredible views. Chunk of difficulty is Madison, Adams, Jefferson, Washington. Once you pass this point it’s a lot less challenging but just as rewarding on Monroe, Eisenhower, and lastly Pierce. Would recommend taking as little or as short breaks as possible until Washington to avoid finishing too much in the dark - our pace started off okay but definitely took more leisurely breaks than necessary. Can go on for forever about this one, a bucket list one for sure, 1-day traverse (well prepped) definitely recommended over an overnight trek.
Amazing hike to Mt Washington. It was not my original plan as I was just hiking to Monroe. But once I was there, I was too close not to make the trek. I really liked the hike up Monroe. Following the river was a nice setting. The day was perfect without a cloud in the sky. Hike up to Washington was not bad at all. Seeing people on top of the mountain that looked like they walked off a train was eerie. Oh wait they did, that silly Cog rail. And then the parking lot was a little odd. I enjoyed the hike down and hit Mt Clay. Perfect day!
Very windy and very rocky but TOTALLY worth it. Climbed down from the peak of Mt Washington to Lakes of the Clouds, which on a nice summer day has gorgeous views. Then up to Mt Monroe - about 2.5 to 3 hours round trip, depending how many photos you stop to take. The AMC hut at the lakes (open to 4pm) was very nice too.
