great views, a little icy on the blue trail as you get to the top. would recommend going up the blue trail and going back down the orange trail.

Awesome trail. Some pretty consistent vertical climbs but not too challenging. Very icy in certain spots, friend had to save two small dogs from sliding down the mountain. View from the top worth every step.

Decent hike, extremely crowded on a nice fall Saturday. Blue trail is very steep and slippery, would recommend the yellow trail (especially if you have dogs.)

Slick with leaves on the last portion of the blue. Went down it but would suggest being careful whether going up or down. Still very beautiful view. Perfect weather. Not too warm and almost no wind. Very small crowd too.

Went up blue, came down yellow. Ledges near the top on blue were tricky and required some quick rock scrambling and scaling. Make sure you have on the proper footwear. Today, the rocks and leaves were slick which presented a greater challenge. Fun hike all around. Great views from the top.

extremely well marked, night hiked starting around 4:45 AM and never missed a trail. was foggy the entire way up, but the summit opened up to a nice sea of clouds. came back down yellow for a more leisurely hike, would recommend.

Was busy on the trail today. Nice view at the top.

I’ve hiked Mt Major many times and never get tired of it. Very pretty view at the top, the only down side is it can get crowded

Great hike overlooking Lake Winnipesaukee. Gets crowded so make sure you get there early! From the parking lot the orange trail is to your left and the blue and yellow trails are to the right. Blue and yellow start off as one and then split farther up. Blue goes left and yellow stays right. Orange trail has tons of boulders, blue trail gets steep towards the summit, and yellow trail is easiest and follows a brook up a good portion of the mountain. Great hike to bring your dog/kids. After the hike I definitely recommend taking a dip in the lake to cool down.

Hiked Mount Major a handful of times and I really enjoy the open and steady incline of the trail. It’s a beautiful hike year round.. definitely recommend!

Gorgeous views with the foliage! This hike is always my go-to! I usually take the brook trail up and down.

Very crowded but spectacular views. Took The blue trail up to Mount major and continued to straight back mountain. I turned right on the white Quarry Trail and then turn right on the green trail back down to the yellow trail and back to the parking lot. Best part of the hike was once I got by Mount Major and left the crowds behind.

Perfect fall day! My sister and I took the yellow trail up and back. She carried her 2 yo on back, so we wanted a bit less intense. There were lots of cars, but it actually felt less crowded to us than the parking lot suggested. Beautiful foliage and lake views — would recommend!

Took the yellow trail yesterday up and down. Spectacular views from the top on a perfect fall day. It was crowded but that didn't take anything away from an enjoyable hike.

A quick and easy hike for what are no doubt some of the best views that I have seen. The reward far exceeds the amount of work needed. Can’t go wrong with this one.

We did the blue up and yellow down. Blue is rocky but the views on that side are spectacular.

Highly recommend taking the yellow trail up and down! The blue trail is very rocky at the top, and hard to navigate. Other than that, the views at the top make it all worth it. Took about 2.5 hours for me, yellow up blue down.
