****aggressive black bear followed us on trail today, 7/2/20. Would not back down from group of adults with sticks and whistles. Followed into deeper woods and back onto trail.***

LOVED This trail. Very easy trail to hit two 4000 footers. Nice views and smooth hike. Encountered a large bear so was glad I had my whistle but apparently there has been a lot of issues with bears on this trail. Be prepared.

I enjoyed this trail quite a bit. It was challenging but manageable. Steady include, excellently maintained. There were some spots where you cross the water but it wasn’t too hard and some pretty waterfalls. Bald peak was so beautiful, and I saw some lady slippers!

Did this hike with 3 and 5 year old girls. View up top is gorgeous. It felt like more than 4.5 miles, but manageable, gradual ascent. Took us 5 hours to complete this altogether.

Did this trail 6/3/2020. Very manageable trail - mainly a gradual incline over forest floor. The views are great and our 2 70 lb dogs managed the stream crossings with ease. Recommended from a Pittsburgher who is active but does not regularly climb mountains!

Great hike trail was in awesome shape I have to say whoever does the trail maintenance is an artist thank you and my wife and hiking partner thanks you stairs drainages that work great job would have rated it a 5 star but view is limited except a few spots but where there is a view it’s an oustanding view of lafayaette liberty and flume

Beautiful trail! The majority of the trail is on forest floor, not a ton of boulders, so it felt a little easier than most trails that lead up to 4000 footers even though there were some steep spots. But nothing unmanageable! The views at the summit are spectacular. You can see into the valley, Moosilauke and you’re right next to North Kinsman. It rained for a bit in the hike up and got quite muddy so make sure you have proper hiking boots!

This is a really great hike with awesome views. Glad I added this peak doing North and South Kinsman. A real treat. The water crossings were all doable with care. Trail was pretty muddy but most avoidable.

Really fun hike with a beautiful view at the top! Three areas where you have to cross water, but can easily get over on the rocks.

Beautiful walk all the way up. The first half is pretty flat, the second half is steep and has a bit of snow that will probably melt soon.

this is a moderate to hard trail that is technical at times with ice and multiple water crossings. Point to point is 5.00 miles, not the 4.4mi. stated. Great view from the top.

Micro spikes needed.

Beautiful hike and view! Gradual incline to the top and short jaunt between north and south peaks. South Kinsman has an outstanding view, too bad it was so windy we couldn’t stay long. I would like to do this hike again in the summer or fall. Lots of ice so micro spikes are necessary but not snowshoes. Many hikers were carrying them but never got worn. Round trip to South Kinsman took about 5 1/2 hours.
