I really enjoyed this hike and would highly recommend it. When you’re near the top there’s a false summit that’s very nice but make sure to continue down the path. This will lead you to the true summit. The views of the Sandwich Range are beautiful.

Great mountain. Very buggy. Had one bug in my eye and another incessantly buzzing my left ear for over a mile. Once they left the gnats took over flying immediately in line of vision! Bugs aside, lovely trail and a gorgeous view for short work. Definitely recommend!

HikingGreat!

Beautiful views at the top and a nice quiet trail. Very hard to find and All Trails directions were incorrect. My GPS led me to a private residence who had a sign out on driveway Meadbase. You need to follow Diamond Ledge Road not Mt. Israel Road-so make sure your GPS does not take you down that road.

I hiked this trail up to Mt. Israel today, Friday, 6/12/20. The trail is a steady incline until the last half mile which is fairly flat and easy to the summit. The weather was perfect for hiking and the views of surrounding mountains were beautiful! The trail was easy to follow and maintained even with a few fallen trees. The waterfall wasn't much to see as it pretty much dried up. The hike would have been better if there were more view points along the way and less buggy. I had bug spray on and I was still bit on the trail, but not when I reached the summit.

The trail is well marked and well maintained. The water crossings are pretty much dried up. Views are nice but there are bugs at the summit nothing bug spray won't take care of.

Decent hike, but unfortunately got a flat tire from the dirt road leading up to parking.

Such a beautiful hike! Clear, well maintained trail, not busy at all-beautiful view at the end. Not one bad thing to say about my afternoon here.

Hiking

Decent hike with great views at multiple points. The first 2/3 is almost all up with some small brook crossings, couple dry and one still flowing. The last 1/3 is the best part. lots of boulders and rocks surrounded by trees, a lot more pleasant hike here. There's a great spot for a break just below the trail junction of Mead Trail. This spot looks south and is worth stopping for a little bit. There is a false summit that has some good views west and north but follow the trail to the real summit and you will be rewarded!

The trail goes up immediately, path is rocky, but the babbling brook is a lovely distraction. A couple of nice little streams for doggy drinks. Nice views from the top. Not too much rock scrambling, but some muddy spots. It was a rugged first of the season hike for me, but worth it.
