this trail is one of the most beautiful I've ever hiked and HIGHLY recommend it as your way up to Mt. Isolation! However we were a bit skeptical about coming down this steep, exposed scramble. So we spotted a car and returned via Rocky Branch Trail, which was long, easy, gradual, BUT also confusing at times as the trail is not marked and required several river crossings. This route is a little more than 13.5 miles and took us 10.5 hours, which includes about 1 1/2 hours of summit and food breaks. Highly recommend this route!
