Microspikes made this a lot easier. Still a ton of snow the second half of the ascent.

Amazing trail. Get ready for a major workout. Writing this review because wish someone else had noted the extent of snow and ice along the 9.6 mile out and back route in late May. Was sunny and warm but spikes would have been a big help and poles vs the long branch I found along the way to help with stability. Spectacular forest scenery, white water and little waterfalls on the way up, and then views for miles in every direction at the summits of both peaks. Eisenhower is about as good as it gets for close up views of Washington and its weather tower set up. We went slow and safe and it took about 8 hours with a quick stop for lunch and a couple of 2 min water breaks.

Used microspikes the whole way, as most did. I clocked less mileage and a bit more elevation for some reason. Summit was clouded when I reached, would return in clear weather. Pretty cold winter chill, but wasn't awfully windy.

Amazing ridge line views throughout but very difficult final 2 hours of the descent. Very rocky but beautiful.

Up Crawford Path and down Edmands Path. Got lucky as the wind died off going across from Pierce. Icy on both sides of the cone but managed with spikes. Crawford well packed out. Edmands had some post-holing but not a real problem. Spectacular at the summit.

beautiful crisp cold day in the whites. microspikes helpful to pierce cutoff. was too lazy to put on snowshoes crossing the ridgeline. microspikes needed on summit to Eisenhower. 100 mile views, wind was picking up at 11 am

Incredible hike with some of the best views I’ve seen in the Whites. Crawford Path going up was mostly packed snow although micro spikes came in handy towards the summit. Snowshoes helped (but were not necessary) on the traverse over to Eisenhower. It was perfectly clear with low winds at the summit with stunning views in all directions. I chose to hike Edmunds Path down, although I quickly regretted this as I was breaking trail through deep snow for the first mile or so. Overall an excellent hike and definitely two peaks I plan to hike again in the summer.

I love Crawford Path. It’s such a steady ascent; the hardest part of this hike was the bit to get to the top of Eisenhower. Really enjoyed the trek there from Pierce. Good amount of snow and ice most of the trail; I wore spikes the whole time.

Great trail. Not too difficult, especially with spikes for the downhill return. Took about 5h45min with plenty of stops for pictures along the way. Perfect day in the mountains.

Second 4,000+ footer I've done, and what a workout! Getting to the top of Pierce is relatively easy, any amateur hiker should be able to do it, though the distance to Eisenhower from Pierce is deceptive. What looks like it should take 30-40 minutes, at a steady pace, instead takes nearly an hour or more. In terms of technical difficulty, I'd rate this trail as Moderate, but the length of it puts it at the low end of Hard. Any amateur hiker seeking to challenge themselves, and be rewarded with an unbelievable view, should do this trail!

First time at the Whites! Absolutely happy to summit Pierce and Eisenhower. Pierce has lovely views down the valley and Eisenhower gives you a panorama of The Presidentials.

Steady incline from the trail head for the first few miles on the way up to Pierce. From Pierce to Eisenhower is a bit tough, but the amazing views make this hike more exciting than painful. We got 360 degree views and insane visibility. Definitely would do it again.

trail was good steady climb. summit was packed and unfortunately some older dweeb (gray/ glasses) was handing out unsolicited hiker etiquette which was very annoying - beware.
