I biked this trail as an out and back starting in Jaffrey, NH. It is packed gravel in most locations and reasonably traversable on a hybrid bike. I did have to get walk my bike in a few short locations where the trail became unpacked stone. For those trying to socially distance, the trail was minimally trafficked on the day I went, which was a sunny weekday. When you cross the state line into MA, there is a sunken causeway across a small pond, and there appears to be a trail that continues on the other side. However, the trail on the other side is poorly packed ballast, and I would not recommend attempting it without a fat tire bike

Good for a mountain bike. Southern half of trail was less traveled and rougher in surface. Some railroad ties are still in place but it was possible to bike beside the ties.
