This one is much quieter than the main entrance, starts/ends by a campground and swim spots. Had one spot where I was misled off trail in the red dot my section but it wasn’t bad

Two miles of pleasant, rising varied trail phases. Then you have three choices, all good. Red Spot is the quickest route to the summit. A unique and pretty trail. Turn right on Cascade Link for the longest route to the summit with sweeping vistas and a couple of very vertical climbs. My favorite trail in this section runs off of Cascade Link 1/3 of a mile after Birchcroft ends. It’s Spellman. Tough and narrow, it includes some mildly frightening scrambles (especially in the winter) and some amazing views. It’s a thrill. Definitely need crampons in the winter. All three trails intersect with Pumpelly ridge and lead you to the summit. I did Birchcroft to Spellman to the summit to Cascade the other day and my phone said I did 10.4 miles. Not sure how accurate it is, but it felt like 10 miles!
