Not very interesting, turned back at power lines

Easy access to river, close enough to carry a kayak. Walked .9 miles and turned around at second set of power lines- wasnt interesting enough to walk under that for any length of time.

A nice peaceful trip.Start out at Big Cove on the Contoocook River and go through pine forest then follow a powerline trail, the first section contains some loose sandy soil but is pretty easy going. There is a small pump track at the NE tip of the route. Turning W you go along an abandoned railroad bed and you will see some left over concrete artifacts from the railroad signage. This is also a snowmobile corridor in the winter. Continue on to a large hayfield, there are no houses in sight anywhere along the route. Come to the base of Rattlesnake Hill and follow the singletrack up a steep ascent to the ledges at the wooded peak. All hardwood trees here. The trip back down is a nice ride with no big drops or sharp turns but you can get moving pretty fast.
