This is a nice trek through the woods with some steep bits but overall not rigorous. The viewpoint is marked with a bench and is a bit narrow. It’s worth popping across the street to walk near the pond. The best views are there.

Ground was covered in leaf mulch which made footing difficult. Steep in paces and almost entirely an incline hike. Nice bench to sit at top

HikingGreat!

Hiked up Ledge Trail and Down Sargent. I think up Sargent would have been better due to the steeper section with moss covering. Love this hike

Up ledge trail and down Sargent- I’d do it counter clockwise next time. You end up doing a 2.7 mile loop with some road walking but great short loop with amazing views

Way more challenging going up than I expected (that’s probably my fault though!). Pretty sweet views at the top. Well marked.

Did the nice out and back of Sargent Path to Lookout Ledge and back to Durand Rd. It’s 0.8 miles each way and isn’t terribly hard. Great views of King’s Ravine, Adams and Madison.

The trailhead is set back just beyond the trail sign. You can see it between the driveways. This is a great hike that I enjoyed hiking. The view on the ledge is amazing. I could have stayed all day. Check out the pond area across the street.

Crescent Mt to Randolph Mt and return. A little buggy and some steep sections but well doable.

HikingBlowdown

May 6, 2019 - Hiked up look out ledge trail. Moderate grade from the start but does get pretty steep at 0.2 miles up to the ledge. The view of Mt. Adams and Madison are amazing. Went down the Durand Rd trail, it was 0.8 to the road and very steep most of the way back down. Many streams on the way down but unsure if they will still be there during the summer so if your hiking with dogs definitely pack in some water. No snow anywhere in the trail! Can’t say enough about the view.

Trail was a bit hard to find at the beginning. I ended up next to someone’s house. I used the map feature on All Trails to trek through the woods to find trail. Finally I saw the orange blaze. They are super helpful as the trail isn’t obvious in some areas. I hiked it in September with my dog and all the creeks were dry. The view was good at the top and we only passed one other hiker on the trail. I ended up taking Pasture trail back down to Durand road instead of returning on Lookout Ledge trail. Durand road runs along a slow river and I found a set of stairs we could go down to the river so my dog could cool her feet and get a drink. Coming down that way was steep at the beginning, but not terrible.

Great hike, lots of nice small creeks. There's also a lot of steep rocky parts. Getting to the ledge point (250m) there's lots of scrambling through rocks. Trail is marked by orange blazers on the trees, which is helpful. View is very good!

I really enjoyed this trail. Decently challenging. It had me pretty winded most of the way up and I'm very active. lookout on top was definitely rewarding.

Nice in and out hike to a scenic overlook. Several trails intersect so you could add several additional miles.
