Beautiful moderate hike. Be prepared for stones and branches to work around but definitely manageable. Gorgeous in Fall.

Easy trail with a great view. I completed it with a broken arm (cast up to my shoulder). Great for beginners and families with small children.

Relatively easy hike. Took the steeper route up, which had great views at several points along the way. Took the less steep route back to complete the loop, which didn't have as many good views but was still enjoyable.

Easy, short hike, but the view is awesome!
Not quite sure how this gets rated "moderate" when Mt Major gets rated "easy"?
Took less then an hour to do the full loop. The only bad thing....lots of bugs! Make sure to use bug spray!

This was a beautiful hike. And the views from the lake view trail are beautiful. I'd only agree with moderate because of the steady up hill climb. We only did the short side, and I agree with another hiker, the trail can be confusing because of areas that look like the trail are not, but they loop back easily. It's a fun and quick hike if you want to see the beautiful lakes and mountains!

The views are not that great, at least in the summer time.

After hiking Mt Shannon a friend and I decided drive a few minutes down the road to hike Lockes Hill Trail. Just follow the blue markers, and once you get to what seems the top (there will be a cable tower like thing) continue right (there's blue ribbon on some trees) and there will be a better view with the lake (like in the pictures). It's basically a dead end so you'll have to walk back up and continue to the left (not the path you came up) and you'll find another tree with blue markers. Follow that trail back down the hill to complete the loop and find you way back to the parking lot. Seems a little confusing @ first once you hit the top and another couple asked us at the top if we just turned around and went down the way we came or if it was a loop. There's another scenic view going back down too.

Nice hike with views of the lake from time to time. The binocular devices are cool for the kids (we found 2 of them). The trails can be a bit confusing, sometimes seeming to branch off and join back up. To save you some time, don't miss the Trail maps that are in a little box near where you drive into the lot. The start of the trail is actually more towards the lot entrance, not the other end which has a porter potty.

Easy to moderate hiking. Quarry Trail is a bit longer with more vegetation views and I found the trail to defined. Lakeview trail is shorter than Quarry but steeper, I suggest ankle support (lots of hemlock roots and rocks) nice lake views. Enjoyable. I hike one of the two trails every morning. Quarry is about 45 mins one way and Lakeview is about 30 mins one way.

Enjoyed a warm February hike with my 5 & 7 year olds. Some tough parts for the little guy with the snow. Overall however, a good hike with beautiful views!
