HikingGreat!

Trail head at end off Pinehill road is not private. Parking and legal access. Trail is short and steep, not marked great but totally findable. There is a steep part with a rope that is hard but cool. View looking west at mount wolf and south to lincoln is great.

Beware, this is not an established trail system. Rather, it is a network of little better than herd paths to viewpoints on Little Coolidge. While there are blazes and some more established routes, there are multiple alternative routes. The shortest goes straight up a steep ravine to First Ledge using the old rope from a ski tow, but there are at least 4 alternative routes to the same ledge. With this understanding, it can be a great place to explore. I live in Forest Ridge, and hike Little Coolidge regularly.

This is out our backdoor, so I love it for it's ease.... to get to. But, don't be fooled by the short loop. It. Is. Hard. There is a rope that you must use to get up (or down) depending on the direction. It's is super steep (you may even want a helmet). As you head in, if you go left at the fork, there was a rope that helped you get across the narrow ravine, but it's gone this summer. I like the little hike because you go through blackberry patches, then into the woods, and then come out on a rocky ledge with great views of Lincoln. There's a lot of climbing that requires the use of your hands and feet.

Somewhat confusing. The place marked on the map as the trailhead (Forest Ridge) has no trespassing signs. There is a parking area off of Pinehall lane but no trail map or other marking. We started there following red markers, but a little ways in it switches to blue and yellow, and GPS showed us off the trail marked in the app. Not sure if we got off to a false start, but we quickly turned back

Hiked from metal bridge off Danial Webster across from and between Linwood Auto and Roadway Inn to Pinehill Road in Forest Ridge neighborhood without going up the Coolidge shoulder. Ended up coming out at end of Pinehill lane that has official trailhead. You can not access this trail off of Forest Ridge Road as map shows, it is all Private. Trail needs some work but is worth doing. I am surprised a trail this close to down town doesn’t get much use. Next time I will do the shoulder. There is a cool Serenity engraving on snowmobile trail 11 at beginning of trail.

Challenging hike, nice views, trees, roots, rocks, leafy terrain. the rope climb was really fun. Open view of Lincoln at first ledge. Some bugs in May. Wear a sweatshirt.

Finding trail head was difficult, not where it shows had to drive to different spot. Beautiful view of Lincoln. And Loon south slopes From rock overviews.
