Nice trail, somewhat steep at the beginning but nothing too challenging. My nine year old dog loves it. Decent view from the south peak of the mountain.

Get a taste of hiking the AT, take in some views of Lake Mascoma and Mount Cardigan, and visit the South Moose shelter. Pretty gradual terrain, one could make it a full dayhike by summiting South Moose and then walking 5 miles out the AT to Holts Ledge.
