HikingGreat!

Nice wide path for most of journey. All uphill. New growth forest with a couple house foundations and lookouts. Over all cute hike.

The trail is a bit boring but great views for not a lot of work!

Not the prettiest trail. Consistently uphill on a dirt road. Pretty view and a picnic table at the end for lunch.

HikingGreat!

The reviews aren't joking when noting this is an incline. It was basically 45 minutes of walking uphill but footing was even, so though it was a bit of a burner, the path was at least easy to walk on. There are 3 outlooks, all with truly amazing views. Two spots had picnic tables, one of them which indicates the "end" of the trail and was a perfect spot to stop for a snack (though we didn't stay long because of bugs). Really quiet! We ran into one other family.

Most of the way is an old forest road with a constant incline. Your calves will be burning but other than that it’s and easy way to go since it’s not too rocky. There will be two outlooks. The first is a meadow with a picnic table facing south and the second is a small opening with an old picnic table facing Mount Washington. It is great for a short and pleasant hike. Also, this trail was very quiet. We didn’t run into anyone else.

This is a nice little hike; a steady trek up with two very good viewpoints, one to the south and the other of Washington.

Mostly, the hike is on old logging roads, which makes it easy to do the hike in maybe 1 1/2 hours. There are a couple of handy picnic tables at the two viewpoints at or near the turnaround point: one looks to the south, and one towards Mt. Washington. Parking at the trail head has space for about 5 cars.

First to Review

The Hall's Ledge trail is part of the Jackson XC network, a web of well groomed trails that offer easy to moderate forest hiking, great cross-country skiing, and beautiful views of the Whites. Spikes made our 4.4-mile hike the day after Xmas a lot easier. Will definitely be back next year.
