Nice trail. Lots of trees across the trail. Not well marked but still relatively easy to follow. Very low traffic.

INACCURATE- recording got paused for a mile descending from the summit. Beautiful woodland trail. Very easy grade to the tippy top! Perfect for dogs!

Great trail for kids and dogs. Easy enough to get up and great views for the effort. We hiked in early September and the trail was pretty dry with a few wet areas but nothing too bad. The first half is marshy so your dog may go off trail and get soaked. Not much running water in the streams when we hiked. There was 1-2 streams up top that were running and were just large enough for the dogs to lay down and cool off. No bugs but I wouldn’t want to be here in the spring or early summer. Not many people on the trail but we did see a lot of cars. There is more than enough parking (there’s a small lot on Algonquin road that most people miss). I think a lot of people skip the summit and go up to Guinea pond to camp and fish.

No challenges on this trail- simple steady ascension over a long trail through the wet woods. As the trail is overgrown, I’d consider long pants to prevent exposure to poison ivy. I imagine the bugs would be brutal in the spring/early summer given the wetness of the whole trail. The summit views are pleasant.
